Walt Whitman Administration and Staff work seamlessly with community organizations to support our learning environments by developing community relationships that endure. Our field trips are engaging adventures that embark our students on a journey through their learning with challenges at every turn. The Whitman Way is to take advantage of the learning that happens in the community- not just the classroom.
On a regular annual basis, Whitman enjoys a strong relationship and showing of support from the Milwaukee Police Department, The Milwaukee Fire Department, Milwaukee Parks and Recreation, Ropes and Challenges, and other community organizations that help to relate our classroom to the world around our students. Our goal is to teach responsible citizenship and responsibility for one another in the greater community.
