Walt Whitman School is a traditional neighborhood K-8 school. More often than not, parents who start their child off at Whitman- no matter what grade they begin with us- stay with Whitman. We have a great response of parents being involved in their child’s education and a solid base of volunteerism is present in our school culture.
We have everything to offer here at our school. Basic education cornerstones such as Reading, Writing and Mathematics are augmented by a rigorous deployment of learning in multiple content areas such as Social Studies, Health, and Science. Rounding out our student experiences includes Art, Music, Physical Education and even individual/group musical instrument lessons.
Our daily learning is aligned to the State Common Core Standards and we utilize the latest technological tools to monitor and improve student performance.
