Milwaukee Parent Institute: High School

The Milwaukee Parent Institute (MPI) is a family engagement program designed to equip MPS families with the tools they need to support their children’s academic and personal success from kindergarten through graduation. Learn more about MPI, then register to attend the high school session for families of students in grades 9–12. This session will take place at the Golda Meir School Upper Campus.

Milwaukee Parent Institute: Middle School

Student Job Fair for Seniors

9:15 am – 2:15 pm

MPS high school seniors are invited to the MPS Student Job Fair! Employers will be on site to talk about careers plus full-time and part-time jobs. Breakfast is provided.

Bus transportation is available to the UWM Student Union and back to school.
Ask your counselor or College and Career Center advisor for a permission slip.

In addition to searching for immediate jobs, students have the chance to explore new fields that may lead to lifelong careers including automotive, construction, health care, law enforcement, manufacturing, and more.

Standards of Conduct and Professionalism for MPS Job Fair Attendees

  • Look your best! Look professional and dress like a student who is excited about getting a job.
  • Follow the MPS policy for cell phone usage.
  • Be a team player. Every student shares a common goal and purpose, which is to leave the fair with important knowledge and information about local jobs. We all want a successful event.
  • Remember: All eyes are on you. Be positive! And if you don’t feel positive, fake it! You are representing your school and the district — make us MPS Proud!
  • Respect others including staff, speakers, and representatives from the employers throughout the fair.
  • There will be zero tolerance for inappropriate behavior, substance abuse, fighting, theft, or vandalism.
  • Follow PBIS protocol at all times — be safe, be respectful, be responsible.

Lead-Screening Clinic

4:00 pm – 6:00 pm

FREE to all Milwaukee children! Appointments are not needed — just walk in.

Parents and guardians, we need your consent to have your child tested — consent forms will be available at the clinics.

What to Expect

  • Preventative health company Novir will conduct the screenings. The test will show whether children have elevated levels of lead in their bloodstream and if monitoring or
    treatment is needed.
  • Testing starts with a finger poke to collect a few drops of blood.
  • Results will be available within minutes.
  • Test results are confidential.
