Partnerships

The school’s close proximity to downtown Milwaukee provides a community classroom where students have easy access to key landmarks, cultural centers and educational organization. Many of these locations lie within walking distance of the school.

    Golda Meir often takes advantage of First Stage’s production and occasionally we have collaborated with the First Stage staff to provide in school drama opportunities for interested students.

  • Milwaukee Art Museum
    The Milwaukee Art Museum’s Junior Docent School Program (JDSP) teachers students the vocabulary, history, and interpretation of the visual arts. The instruction provides assists in the development, awareness, and understanding of visual arts in relation to history and cultures. Students visit the Museum three times each year, over a three-year period, building on concepts and skills while using the Milwaukee Art Museum’s collection.

    Many Golda Meir’s students are members of the Milwaukee Children’s Choir that meets once a week at MYAC right after school.

    Close proximity to the school and MSO Concerts for Schools has made the symphony concerts a regular destination for the students.
  • Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra (MYSO)
    Many Golda Meir’s students participate in MYSO’s Progressions Program, which is an intensive string training program providing private instruction and orchestral training in violin, viola, cello and bass to 3rd and 4th grade City of Milwaukee students with little or no experience playing a string instrument. Many other students also participate in various MYSO groups. In addition, Golda Meir’s students also enjoy many MYSO’s Neighborhood Concerts due to the proximity of the location.
