Resources

Young students sit at tables and use laptops. At Hi-Mount Community School, students are exposed to and have access to a wide variety of technological resources, including a state-of-the-art Library Media Center. Technology is a priority at Hi-Mount and an integral part of its curriculum. Students are encouraged to use the resources available to them from an early age. These resources reinforce concepts students are already learning and mastering in the classroom, such as reading abilities and math calculations. Students also improve upon their keyboarding technique, a vital skill to have in today’s fast-paced, computer-centered world. Finally, as students progress and grow, they learn to use the Library Media Center to conduct research and expand their knowledge.

Hi-Mount recognizes the importance of technology in today’s fast-paced world. Technology is always changing and keeping up with all those changes is a top priority. Fortunately, Hi-Mount teachers incorporate the latest computer training tools in their instruction so students can stay current with the rest of the world. The school demonstrates its dedication to the promotion of technology by supporting a number of different endeavors.

Students as young as K4 begin their instruction in technology using SMART Boards. SMART Board technology combines the classic whiteboard with digital projection and a computer, creating an interactive system of learning for students. SMART Boards keep students engaged and excited about learning while they develop an appreciation for technology. All students have access to chromebooks, laptops, or desktop computers in every classroom.  Students with special needs also have the opportunity to enhance their learning through the use of assistive technology.

All Hi-Mount teachers receive training to integrate technology into their curriculum.   Additionally, Hi-Mount boasts Internet connection from every classroom, a fully functioning local school network, an automated state-of-the-art library and a distance lab equipped with a wide variety of resources.Hi-Mount guarantees a well-rounded education for each one of its students, including thorough technological instruction integrated with core academic lessons and Fine Arts experiences.
