Each student’s first teacher is his or her parent or guardian. Parents enable teachers to do their jobs well by keeping their children motivated and excited to learn. For this reason, Hi-Mount considers parent involvement extremely valuable and keeps all lines of communication open among parents, faculty and staff.
The School Engagement Council is comprised of elected parents, teachers, and student representatives who are highly involved in the implementation and evaluation of the school’s improvement plan. School Engagement Council meetings are held monthly. We encourage any interested parents/guardians to attend!
Hi-Mount provides numerous family programs such as:
- Family Nights
- Read-Ins with Mom and Dad
- Math & Literacy Nights
- Health Fairs
- Open House
Because parents play such an integral role in their child’s education, they are encouraged to volunteer their time and energy by assisting classroom teachers or chaperoning field trips.
