Library Media

With technological resources available throughout Honey Creek, students have endless multimedia opportunities at their fingertips. While promoting online safety and proper Internet use, Honey Creek teaches students how to create media projects and encourages them to take advantage of computers located in all classrooms. Software programs are used to further develop academic instruction, challenging students to use what they learn in the classroom to complete projects on the computer. In addition to computers, all classrooms are equipped with sound field systems and SMART boards.  It is the hope of the Honey Creek administration that students grow into confident learners who embrace the integration of technology with the academic curriculum. By teaching students to use the resources around them, staff enables them to develop into resourceful, responsible citizens prepared to compete in a global market as they enter the next phase in their education.

Our school library has a comprehensive collection of books that supplement our curriculum and accommodate the personal interests of all our students. By reading books and analyzing stories, students retain their comprehension strategies. It is important to promote learning on a technological level and ensure that students also develop into strong readers who can understand the meaning of text and apply it to their everyday lives.

The Honey Creek School Library is available online at https://milwaukee.follettdestiny.com.

Our Accelerated Reading Program has combined technology, reader incentives, computerized measurement and quality books to enhance our children’s enthusiasm for reading.

If you would like to view your child’s progress in this program you can log in to the AR Home Connect Website: https://global-zone08.renaissance-go.com/studentprogress/homeconnect.  (Renaissance ID: MPS-08TI).  User name and password are your child’s Student ID (no “s”) and birth date (mm/dd/yy).

You can determine whether a quiz exists for a particular book by going to: https://www.arbookfind.com.  If a quiz is found your child will be able to take that quiz at Honey Creek.
