Lead Testing Clinic at Clement Ave.
–
July 28, 2026
As part of our ongoing work to monitor student safety, the district will offer lead testing at Clement Avenue School. This testing will show whether children have elevated levels of lead in their bloodstream.
The testing at Clement Avenue will take place on Tuesday, July 28, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Members of the Novir health network will be on site to conduct the testing.
Lead testing is done through a finger prick. A health care provider then collects a few drops of blood to be used for the test. Test results will be shared with families when completed.
The Milwaukee Health Department recommends that all young children be tested for lead. This school location was chosen for families' convenience only. Young children can develop health issues when they have elevated levels of lead. This test will let you know whether your child’s lead exposure falls within acceptable ranges or whether further monitoring or treatment is needed.
We need your consent to test your child. You can fill out and bring the consent form that was sent via email, or you can fill out the form at the school on the day of testing.
