Each day, students are expected to arrive at 81st Street mentally, emotionally and physically prepared to learn. This not only means having paper and a pencil on hand, but displaying a positive attitude as well. A positive attitude warrants participation and hard work in the classroom, which is what we expect of our students and guide them to expect of themselves.
Eighty-first Street provides its students with a large, reliable support system. Students should never hesitate to ask a staff member for advice on challenging homework or a difficult personal issue. Extra homework help is always available. Students make 81st Street the wonderful learning community it is today and for that reason, the staff is determined to ensure that students are comfortable talking to their peers as well as staff members. Eighty-first Street houses an innovative computer lab available for student use.
