Five of our students participated in UW-Milwaukee’s Women’s and Gender Studies Essay Contest for Women’s History Month. We are proud to announce that two students earned first place in their age category, and the other three earned honorable mention.
Congratulations to sixth grader Albert for his first place essay A Great Dream Comes From Childhood, and to sixth grader Kisimba for her honorable mention essay Never Outsmart a Woman. Congratulations to seventh graders Manar and Ines for their honorable mention essays Don’t Judge a Woman and Independent Woman. A final congratulations to eighth grader Defy Nyota for her first place essay All the Sacrifices We Made for Love.
Students presented their essays at a ceremony at UW-Milwaukee on Wednesday, March 13. They were also awarded certificates and gift cards for their efforts and great work. We are so proud; keep up the excellent work, Dragons!
