By keeping the lines of communication open between Cooper families and staff members, students are able to rely on a strong support network. Parents are encouraged to visit their child’s classroom and volunteer to assist teachers with school activities. By attending events at Cooper, parents take an active role in their child’s education and show their support in helping their child achieve academically, socially and emotionally.
PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION
About the Cooper School PTA
The Cooper School PTA is a collaborative partnership between families, teachers, and staff dedicated to enriching the educational experience of every student. We believe that a strong school community—built on communication, involvement, and inclusivity—creates the foundation for student success.
Our mission is to support our school through programs and events that celebrate our diverse community, strengthen connections between home and school, and provide resources that enhance learning both inside and outside the classroom.
Through volunteerism, fundraising, and advocacy, we aim to:
- Foster an engaging, welcoming environment for all families.
- Support teachers and staff through classroom initiatives and appreciation efforts.
- Provide meaningful enrichment activities that promote creativity, culture, and academic growth.
- Encourage student leadership, kindness, and community spirit.
Together, we’re building a stronger Cooper—one event, one volunteer, and one student at a time.
School Governance Council
The School Governance Council works with the principal as an advisory body to discuss and improve school policies, curriculum, educational plan goals and the budget. Members of the council include parents, staff members and community representatives. Council participation is voluntary through a school-based election process, which occurs during the month of May. For more information, or to get involved in the School Governance Council, please contact Cooper’s school office at (414) 304-6300.

Tuesday Folders/School-Home Communication
Tuesday Folders, sent home weekly, are used for school-related communication. Parents are reminded to check these folders for important information regarding upcoming events and school policies. Families with more than one child at Cooper can expect schoolwide information to come home in the Tuesday folder of the youngest student.
