Dear Cooper Families,
I hope this message finds you well. My name is Kristin Hinds, and I am honored to introduce myself as the new Principal of Cooper Elementary School.
It is a privilege to join this vibrant and dedicated school community. From what I have already seen and heard, Cooper Elementary is a place where students are nurtured, staff are committed, and families are actively involved-a combination that creates a strong foundation for academic success and personal growth.
I come to you with 28 years of experience in education, having served as principal, assistant principal, curriculum implementor, restorative practice leader, literacy coach and teacher all in Milwaukee Public Schools.
I am passionate about creating a learning environment where every student feels supported, challenged, and empowered. My approach is rooted in collaboration, transparency, and the belief that all students can achieve great things when given the opportunity and encouragement.
I look forward to getting to know you- listening to your hopes for our school, learning from your experiences, and working together to build on the school’s strengths while embracing new possibilities. I truly value open communication and community involvement.
Thank you for the warm welcome I’ve already received. I am excited for the school year ahead and to partner with all of you in helping our students thrive.
With appreciation,
Kristin Hinds
Principal, James Fenimore Cooper
