Hello Metcalfe families! My name is Kailyn Wykhuis and I am your School Social Worker. Many of you know me as Ms. Peters. Don’t worry, it is still me, I just got married. This is my fifth full year at Metcalfe, and I have enjoyed the journey this far. Just a little bit about me- I come from a small family in Green Bay, WI. My family, puppy, and friends are extremely important to me. I graduated from UW-Oshkosh with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Minor in Spanish. I took a year break from school to work as a Crisis Intervention Specialist for CESA 6 to assist youth with mental health diagnoses as well as volunteering for the Reach Counseling Center in the Fox Valley area to support survivors of sexual violence. In December of 2017, I graduated from UW-Milwaukee with my Master’s in Social Work and Certificate in Trauma Informed Care. I have such a strong passion for working and forming collaborative and trusting relationships with students, families, and staff here at Metcalfe. Let’s make this the best year yet!

I can assist you and your family in the following ways:

  1. Experiencing a difficult living situation (homelessness, etc.)
  2. Problems with transportation
  3. Students refusing to come to school
  4. Difficulties getting your children to school
  5. In need of community resources (housing, clothing, etc.)
  6. In need of behavioral/mental health resources for yourself or child
  7. Academic concerns for your student
  8. Behavior concerns for your student
  9. Change in address
Any other questions… I may not have the answer, but I will find a person who does!

Please, do not hesitate to reach out if you need help, need to talk, or just want to say hello. I am here for you and your children!

Then are you able to add this attachment under Programs and Partnerships:

SCPMH – School Community Partnership for Mental Health

Metcalfe is now partnering with Lutheran Social Services to offer in-school mental health supports for students who do not have access to it in the community.

Please call Ms. Wykhuis (414-874-3630) or Ms. Jones (414-874-3631) for more information.
