Hello Metcalfe families! My name is Kailyn Wykhuis and I am your School Social Worker. Many of you know me as Ms. Peters. Don’t worry, it is still me, I just got married. This is my fifth full year at Metcalfe, and I have enjoyed the journey this far. Just a little bit about me- I come from a small family in Green Bay, WI. My family, puppy, and friends are extremely important to me. I graduated from UW-Oshkosh with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Minor in Spanish. I took a year break from school to work as a Crisis Intervention Specialist for CESA 6 to assist youth with mental health diagnoses as well as volunteering for the Reach Counseling Center in the Fox Valley area to support survivors of sexual violence. In December of 2017, I graduated from UW-Milwaukee with my Master’s in Social Work and Certificate in Trauma Informed Care. I have such a strong passion for working and forming collaborative and trusting relationships with students, families, and staff here at Metcalfe. Let’s make this the best year yet!
I can assist you and your family in the following ways:
- Experiencing a difficult living situation (homelessness, etc.)
- Problems with transportation
- Students refusing to come to school
- Difficulties getting your children to school
- In need of community resources (housing, clothing, etc.)
- In need of behavioral/mental health resources for yourself or child
- Academic concerns for your student
- Behavior concerns for your student
- Change in address

Metcalfe is now partnering with Lutheran Social Services to offer in-school mental health supports for students who do not have access to it in the community.
