Having Involved Parents (HIP)
HIP, developed exclusively by COA, places Parent Involvement Coordinators (PICs) in elementary schools to help parents become more actively involved in their child’s education. PICs meet with parents daily; invite and encourage them to attend school events; ask parents about their children’s absences and school progress; and introduce parents to school staff. Monthly Family Gathering Nights give parents an opportunity learn more about school happenings, while enjoying a meal and participating in COA sponsored family centered events.
Lancaster School also offers a Parent Resource Center.
