Principal’s Message

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I would like to formally take this opportunity to introduce myself.  My name is Mr. Keith Omdahl, and I will serve as the principal of Keefe Avenue School.  I am excited and humbled to be working with our students regarding setting and reaching their academic goals.  As we move forward into the new school year, we will continue to strategically align resources to provide students with a high-quality educational experience.  On behalf of the staff, we welcome you to engage in discourse around student achievement ensuring that all students reach their highest potential.  We know a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child’s education.  We ask that you support our students by:

  • Ensuring that he/she attends school daily
  • Ensuring that he/she arrives on time
  • Ensuring and encouraging that he/she is prepared and ready for learning
  • Ensuring that he/she completes all homework assignments

I am excited and honored to be a part of the Keefe Avenue School team. Having the opportunity to meet with staff and parents taking part in earnest dialogue confirms the dedication and commitment the school community has for our students. I am eager to be a part of the work that serves in meeting student achievement goals.  We will continue to focus on reading, writing and mathematics skills as well as building culture and climate.  As educators, we must continuously preserve quality education to ensure that our students are provided with authentic skill-building experiences.  Those experiences will give them the confidence to compete in the job market of the future.  In addition, we must strategically teach students to become problem solvers equipping them to become the next generation of leaders in the world.

The school hours starting Tuesday, September 5, 2023 will continue as 7:25 a.m. to 2:10 p.m. daily.  Students will be required to report to the playground upon arrival.  Students that currently ride the bus, buses will continue to pick-up and drop-off according to the current schedule.  Please be mindful that all students (bus riders and drop off/pick-up) should arrive on time to school daily.

The student dress code will be as follows:

  • Yellow, Royal Blue Polo Shirt (Plain, Long Sleeve and/or Short Sleeve)
  • Khaki Pants

We will continue with instructional practices targeting scholars’ literacy and math skills.  Our staff will continue to support students’ daily attendance, academic and behavioral goals.  As we continue to extend a warm welcome to you, we thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Mr. Keith Omdahl
