Principal’s Message

Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year at Garland School!

It is a joy to welcome back our returning families and extend a warm greeting to those who are new to our community. Garland is a vibrant and diverse K–8 school where students engage in a rigorous, culturally responsive academic program. In addition to strong core instruction, we offer art, music, physical education, special education services, and English as a Second Language programs.

Outside the classroom, students benefit from opportunities that build leadership and community. Our Playworks program fosters teamwork and inclusivity, and the Junior Coach program gives students the chance to lead while promoting positive behavior on the playground. Families also enjoy access to a variety of athletic options and our high-quality before- and after-school camp.

At Garland, our staff is committed to creating a safe, welcoming environment where every child is challenged, supported, and inspired to grow. We are proud of the strong partnerships we build with families, and I encourage you to stay connected throughout the year.

If you have questions, ideas, or feedback, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me at. Together, let’s make 2025–2026 an amazing year—Expect Great Things!

Sincerely,

Ms. Michelle Ellison-Sanders
