Position: Early Childhood Autism Teacher

Contact: [email protected]

Education:  I have a Bachelor’s in Science in Education from University of Arkansas, Fayetteville and a Master’s in Professional Counseling from Concordia University.

What was your favorite grade as a kid and why?  My favorite grade was 4th grade because of my teachers Mrs. Weede and Mrs. Minkus.  They made me love coming to school!

What do you want most for the students at Franklin?  I want the students at Franklin to know that they are LOVED and that I can instill the strength in them to believe in themselves no matter what!!!

Who is someone you admire and why?  I admire my mother.  My mother had cancer and several other illnesses caused by her cancer.  She fought the illnesses for 11 years.  In that 11 years, she lived her life to the fullest no matter what was thrown at her way.  She had so much strength, courage and most of all the fight to live!!!

What is the best piece of advice you got as a kid?  The best piece of advice I got as a kid was to just keep going and don’t give up.

What are some of your interests outside of the school day?   My interests outside of school are to spend time with family, go to the gym, drive my Camaro, enjoy being outside in the summer, traveling, going out to dinner with family, shopping, playing with my dogs, cooking special foods for the holidays, and being silly with my daughters.

What are people sometimes surprised to learn about you?  People are sometimes surprised to learn that I have a sense of humor and can be very outgoing.
