November 2025

Hello Fairview Families,

As we shift to the Winter months, please send your child(ren) to school dressed for the weather.  We want to continue to provide opportunities for our scholars to get fresh air and exercise.  Hats, gloves, and a winter jacket are necessities and when the snow starts flying, please add in the winter boots.

Fairview Food Drive – We are continuing our Food Drive to support the Hunger Task Force. Students are able to donate pre-packaged food such as canned fruit, vegetables, and soup, oatmeal, spaghetti noodles and sauce, nuts, and other non-perishable foods. Our goal is to raise about half a ton of food (1000lbs),  throughout the entire school.  We have bakery incentives and an extra recess for the top two classrooms who have donated the most.  The Food Drive ends on Monday, December 15.

1st Trimester ROAR Celebration – On Friday, November 21, teachers will be recognizing students who have consistently demonstrated our Fairview Lion Laws of being safe, respectful and responsible.  Teachers will also be presenting awards for students who have earned perfect attendance.

Trimester 1 Report Cards – Trimester 1 report cards will be going home with students on Tuesday, December 9.  Families should be on the lookout for the report card manilla envelope.  Please review the report (report card stays home) with your child and return the envelope with a parent/guardian signature.

Winter Concert – Fairview’s Winter Concert is back!  The date for the Winter Concert will be Thursday, December 18th.  K4 through 5th grade students will be performing at 12:30pm.

Morning Drop-Off – As you are aware, the morning drop-off time is extremely busy.  Please give yourself time to park along the Parkway away from the bus and no parking zones.  We have placed orange cones in the areas that are designated for our buses and/or areas that are no stop zones.  Thank you in advance for following our morning drop-off procedure.

Picking Students Up Early – If you have to pick up your child before the end of the day, you must call the main office prior to 2:00PM.  With over 640 students, our end of the day routines and schedules are busy.  Please be patient as students will be called to the main office for pick up when a parent/guardian arrives at the school.

PAW Slips – One of the foremost advances in school-wide discipline is the emphasis on school-wide systems of support that include proactive strategies for defining, teaching, and supporting appropriate student behaviors to create positive school environments.  “PAW Slips” are positive reinforcement indicators that are given to students who demonstrate appropriate behaviors in all areas of the school.  Students will enter their slips in periodic drawings for recognition, privileges and/or prizes.
