Dear Fairview Families,
We are excited to announce that our school expansion project is getting underway! In time for the 2024–25 school year, our school will have a new addition completed that will make space for a larger, updated gymnasium; expanded art and science rooms; larger music room; and other interior renovations to help support small group learning. The expansion is made possible by the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief funds known as ESSER III.
For the remainder of this school year and into the summer, our campus and neighborhood will be impacted by construction. You may have seen construction fencing already in place along the building. The work will get underway as soon as all permits are approved by the City of Milwaukee.
We have some important details to share regarding parking and adjustments to normal school procedures.
- A portion of the sidewalk and school parking lot along the west side of our campus (along 66th Street) will be closed until construction is completed.
- Parking may be impacted in the neighborhood as staff will need to utilize street side parking during construction.
The safety of students and staff is our top priority. Please remind your children to stay away from construction areas. We are working with the City of Milwaukee and the Milwaukee Police Department to address any potential street safety issues. At this time, we do not expect traffic patterns in the neighborhood to change.
Please also be alert to construction vehicles coming and going. We appreciate that these may be fascinating to children. We ask that you use caution when your children and pets are near the construction area.
We are excited about opening our beautiful new spaces next school year, and we appreciate your patience in adapting to the changes around our building. Any time you have questions or suggestions, please ask me.
Have a wonderful school year!
Eric Sullivan, Principal
