City Year
City Year is an education focused, nonprofit organization that unites young people of all backgrounds for a year of full-time service to keep scholars in school and on-track to graduation. Here in Milwaukee, City Year corps members work in eight Milwaukee Public Schools, serving as tutors, mentors, classroom support and role models. At Carver Academy, a team of ten diverse corps members provide targeted support in the areas of attendance, behavior, and course performance in reading and math in grades 3 – 7. Corps members also support after-school programming, as well as partner with the school to run family and community engagement events, such as literacy and math nights.
