FREE Theater Workshops with Milwaukee Rep
ELO Adventures are free classes offered through Milwaukee Rep and MPS’s Office of Extended Learning Opportunities to students ages 7-13. Our first program of the year – Adventures in Acting: Fantastical Fairytales – teaches students the basics of acting, public speaking, collaboration, and cooperation while also supporting literacy and social-emotional learning. The Adventures in Acting camp gives students the opportunity to explore the basics of acting through games, script work, improvisation, and teamwork!
Classes begin on February 14th and run for four Saturdays, with our last class being on March 7th. The final class will even include a short presentation open to family and friends! Classes run from 9:30am to 12pm, consisting of two segments that each run an hour with a snack break in between. This ELO Adventure will be held at Milwaukee Rep’s NEW Herzfeld Foundation Education & Engagement Center (108 East Wells Street Milwaukee, WI 53202). Museums Discounted Admissions
If you have a SNAP EBT card you are eligible for reduced admission to various museums throughout the USA. In Milwaukee it is the Milwaukee Public Museum and in Chicago it includes the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago Children’s Museum, Adler Planetarium, Shedd Aquarium, Lincoln Park Zoo and others. Hungry Task Force Mobile Market
The Mobile Market is a grocery store on wheels that travels throughout Milwaukee County to visit neighborhoods and communities that have limited access to fresh and healthy foods. The Mobile Market makes stops daily Monday – Friday in communities throughout the city.
Along with other staples, local grocer Piggly Wiggly stocks the Mobile Market with a healthy selection of fruits, vegetables, milk (dairy and nondairy options), chicken, beef, pork, deli meat, cheese, yogurt and more. The market does not sell canned items or processed foods. The market accepts debit cards, credit cards and Quest EBT. No cash is onboard or accepted. Hunger Task Force FoodShare Outreach staff will help eligible people apply for FoodShare during market operating hours. The market is an active store, not a food pantry or donation center.
All shoppers are welcome on the Mobile Market. Hunger Task Force offers 50% OFF all items on the Mobile Market beyond Piggly Wiggly’s low prices.
