Our school is holding a Penny War to raise money for field trip costs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It will begin <\/span><b>Monday, April 21st<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and run through <\/span><b>Friday, May 2nd<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>How it works<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Teams:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Our teams will be classrooms<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Collecting Pennies:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Classrooms earn points by collecting pennies in their own containers.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Sabotaging Other Teams:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Classrooms can deduct points from other classrooms by placing silver coins in their containers.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Scoring:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Pennies count positively, while silver coins count negatively.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Winning:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> The classroom with the highest point total (after subtracting the value of silver coins) at the end of the fundraising period wins.\u00a0 Each class will have the ability to vote for an agreed upon classroom reward to receive if they are the winning classroom.
