Sherman Multicultural Arts School hosts an after-school program through its Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Center at Sherman.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Open from <strong>2:15 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.<\/strong> on school days, the Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Center at Sherman is an after-school enrichment program for K4 through eighth-grade students.<\/p>\n<p>The School Community Learning Center is led by three partners:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Milwaukee Recreation<\/li>\n<li>Boys &amp; Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee<\/li>\n<li>William T. Sherman Multicultural Arts School<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Every Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Center offers a healthy snack or light dinner, and supervised, structured academic enrichment opportunities that reinforce what students are learning in school.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Academic Enrichment: Math and reading support<\/li>\n<li>Arts Programming<\/li>\n<li>College and Career Readiness<\/li>\n<li>Family Engagement Activities<\/li>\n<li>Social and Emotional Learning<\/li>\n<li>Youth Development Activities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Fees<\/h2>\n<p>Milwaukee Public Schools\u2019 21st CCLC programs may charge nominal program fees. The inability to pay fees or to receive Wisconsin Shares authorization cannot be a barrier to participation for students.<\/p>\n<p>For fee information, please contact the Sherman Community Learning Center site coordinator, Derrick Currie, at <a href=\"mailto:derrick.currie@bgcmilwaukee.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">derrick.currie@bgcmilwaukee.org<\/a> or (414) 874-5814.<\/p>\n<p>All Milwaukee Public Schools community learning centers are funded by\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/dpi.wi.gov\/sspw\/clc\/grant-competition\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Center federal grant funds<\/a>\u202fthrough a grant agreement with the\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/dpi.wi.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction<\/a>. The federal\u202fElementary and Secondary Education Act, as amended by No Child Left Behind, Title IV, Part B, fund all 21st Century Community Learning Center grants.<\/p>\n<h2>Registration<\/h2>\n<p>Registration forms are available at the school\u2019s 21st CCLC site and must be submitted to the site coordinator.
