The mission of Milwaukee Marshall High School’s Physical Education Program is to provide all students with comprehensive instruction into the many aspects of physical education from both a knowledge (learning) and application (participation) perspective. Every student at Marshall takes physical education.
Locks and Lockers
At the start of the school year, each student will be issued a lock and a locker. Lockers should be kept clean and locked at all times. Combinations should not be shared with anyone! If a student loses a lock, they will be charged $5.00 for a replacement lock. The school cannot be responsible for lost or stolen items. All locks must be returned at the end of the year or you will be charged for its replacement.
Supplies
Students are required to dress for gym each class! Proper dress includes the following items:
- Athletic Shoes (Please avoid shoes with soles that will leave marks on the floor)
- Socks
- Athletic Shorts (No short shorts or jean shorts are allowed)
- T-Shirt (No button shirts, tank tops, or muscle shirts are allowed)
During times when classes meet outside, sweatpants and sweatshirts are allowed. Students are also required to bring a 12 pack of #2 pencils during the first week of school.
All jewelry must be removed prior to class to guard against injury!
Hygiene
Students are encouraged to bring deodorant, lotion, and cologne or perfume as long as these items are kept in plastic containers. Students should take their gym clothes home on a regular basis to be cleaned. It is recommended for students to keep a second set up gym clothes in their gym locker to be used when the first set is taken home.
Grading
All students will be graded on the criteria below, on the following grade scale: 93-100=A, 85-92=B, 77-84=C, 69-76=D, less than 69=U.
- Dressing for class (this includes having all of the items listed above)
- Participation in all class activities (this includes the warm-up, skills work, and any game play)
- Respecting self and others (this includes following all directions, using appropriate language, and exhibiting behavior consistent with a gifted and talented student)

We believe that all students can achieve the grade of “A” with discipline, hard work, and effort!
