Cell phone or any electronic device possession policy

Cell phones can be possessed by students, but they cannot activate, display or use them while in school other then for approved educational purposes. The restriction also applies to extra-curricular activities and field trips.

If you are seen using a cell phone during school hours or you have it out in the open (even if you are not using it), your cell phone may be confiscated by Administrative personnel.

  • First time offense: Your cell phone will be confiscated. All phones will be held until a parent or guardian must pick up the item. Students will not be allowed to pick up their cell phones.
  • Second time offense: You will receive an automatic pending suspension and phone will be held for parent pickup.
  • Third time offense: You will receive an automatic suspension for chronic violation of school rules.

If you use a cell phone to call outsiders to the school to participate in harassing or fighting another student or staff member, you can be expelled from Milwaukee Public Schools, and the outsiders can be criminally charged.

If your cell phone is lost, damaged, or stolen, Milwaukee Marshall High School, Milwaukee Public Schools, and all school personnel will not under any circumstances be responsible and will not pay to have it replaced or repaired. You are bringing your cell phone at your own risk.
