{"id":9164,"date":"2023-05-19T21:55:44","date_gmt":"2023-05-19T21:55:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mpsschoolwebsi.wpenginepowered.com\/macl\/?p=9164"},"modified":"2023-05-19T21:55:44","modified_gmt":"2023-05-19T21:55:44","slug":"survive-alive-house-fire-safety","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/k12.mps.school\/macl\/2023\/05\/19\/survive-alive-house-fire-safety\/","title":{"rendered":"Survive Alive House: Fire Safety"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Students in the International Newcomer Center attended the Milwaukee Fire Department&#8217;s Survive Alive House.\u00a0 Students first learned various safety tips to help them and their families plan ahead in case a fire happens.\u00a0 Then, they learned what to do if the alarm sounds and how to safely escape a building.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, students participated in a simulation of a house fire and practiced escaping, calling 911, and ensuring their family was safely outside at the meeting place.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in the year, MACL 5th graders also experienced Survive Alive House.
