First Stage Children’s Theater

First Stage logoFirst Stage spends more than 2,000 hours annually in classrooms throughout southeastern Wisconsin offering pre-performance and post-performance classroom workshops and after school creative drama programs. In addition to teaching appreciation and encouraging participating in theater, First Stage also offers arts integration programs to teach academic subject matter using active learning and theater techniques.

Danceworks Mad Hot Rhythm (MHR)

Danceworks logoDanceworks Mad Hot Rhythm is an educational dance program for schoolchildren in the Greater Milwaukee area targeting primarily very low-income schools in Milwaukee’s central city. MHR provides desperately needed arts programming directly in the schools, while building artistic, academic and social skills among students. MHR strives to empower youth to stay in school, gain self-confidence and reach their full potential through the transformative power of dance.

Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra – ACE Program

Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra logoThe MSO Arts in Community Education Program is nationally acclaimed and enhances students’ education through the integration of music and art into the school curriculum, accomplished through six ACE program components. ACE integrates music and arts into daily core subjects, giving students a comprehensive learning experience. It is nationally recognized as a model in arts education.

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)

PBIS is a joint effort between Milwaukee Public Schools Office of Family Services and the Milwaukee Teachers’ Education Association to effectively reduce classroom disruptions and student suspensions through a school-wide systematic tiered-intervention approach. Data shows that schools that implement PBIS with fidelity see decreases in disruptions and suspensions and increases in student achievement.

Skylight Music Theatre

Skylight Music Theater logoEnlighten is Skylight Music Theatre‘s Education program which includes touring shows for students, our Partner School program with Milwaukee Public Schools and internships, Audience Guides and Pre-show talks for adults. Instill an appreciation of the arts, develop future audience members, encourage and guide aspiring young artists, and establish arts education as a vital component of a well- rounded curriculum.

SHARP Literacy

SHARP Literacy energizes urban school children to become confident, capable readers, writers and researchers, using the visual arts to engage young minds and reinforce learning. Providing them with opportunities to develop a wide range of skills – reading, writing, oral communications, research, creating thinking and problem solving – SHARP creates a solid foundation for future learning and success. On pre-and post vocabulary tests, SHARP students improve their literacy skills between 40-70%.
