Principal’s Message

Greetings all families, friends and community members!

Principal WillinghamMy name is Keushum Willingham and I am proud to serve as Principal of Richard Kluge Creative Arts Elementary School. At Kluge, we pride ourselves in setting and achieving our goals whether they be academic, emotional or social. We have the distinction of being the designated creative arts school for the Northwest Region in Milwaukee Public Schools. This allows us to focus on the core academics as well as creative student engagement strategies through the use of the arts. With full-time art, music and physical education specialists, coupled with phenomenal partnerships with organizations such as First Stage Theater, Danceworks, SHARP Literacy, Junior Achievement, Milwaukee County Zoological Society and the Milwaukee Symphony, we are able to provide a wide range of activities to meet the needs and interests of every child.

Your children will continue be involved in daily intervention where all students will receive additional support in reading and math so they can continue making progress that will prepare them for the future. On top of these awesome opportunities throughout the school day, we also offer an after-school, daily CLC program, through a partnership with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Milwaukee, which will provide extended learning opportunities for students in grades K4-5th grade.

At Kluge, we try to take the time and effort to make all students, families, visitors and friends feel important from the moment they arrive. Our staff provides a safe, caring, and supportive environment where all students are able to grow and achieve. We believe that

Teamwork makes a Dream work. Thank you for entrusting your children into our care and thank you for joining TEAM Kluge!

Specifically for families, our parent center is open daily and available for any parent or family member who may need assistance with technology, educational literature, to meet with one-another or maybe just for a hot cup of coffee. Feel free to stop in for a tour or just to say hi! We are always looking for parent volunteers so be sure to ask how you can become a more active member of our team! I can’t wait to meet you all in person.

In service,

Mr. Keushum Willingham
