Welcome to the 2026\u20132027 school year! My name is Katara Woods, and I am honored to serve as Principal at Byron Kilbourn. With over 24 years in education\u2014as a classroom teacher, District coach, and school administrator\u2014I am deeply committed to supporting the success and well-being of every student in our school community.<\/p>\n
I am excited and honored to begin my first year as principal of Byron Kilbourn and look forward to partnering with our students, families, staff, and community.<\/p>\n
This year\u2019s theme is \u201cTaking Flight and Soaring Toward Greatness!\u201d<\/strong> At Byron Kilbourn, Excellence is the Expectation<\/strong>. We believe every student can achieve at high levels when provided with a safe, supportive, engaging environment, strong relationships, and high expectations.<\/p>\n School begins promptly at 7:15 a.m.<\/strong>, with doors opening at 7:05 a.m.<\/strong> Students arriving after 7:40 a.m.<\/strong> will be marked tardy.<\/p>\n As your new principal, I am committed to listening, learning, building relationships, and working alongside our families to create even greater opportunities for our students. Together, we can make this a year filled with learning, growth, achievement, and joy.<\/p>\n Thank you for choosing Byron Kilbourn and entrusting us with your children.
