Families!\u00a0 Welcome to the 2026-27 school year!\u00a0 My name is Mrs. Jennifer Carter and I am the very proud principal of Individualized, Developmental, Educational Approaches to Learning School or as we like to say:\u00a0 I.D.E.A.L.!!!!\u00a0 On behalf of the entire staff I want to welcome you to the I.D.E.A.L. School and our wonderful learning community.\u00a0 We are happy to have you here and we look forward to working with you as a team throughout the school year.<\/p>\n<p>A few things about I.D.E.A.L. School:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Unique multi-age learning environment.\u00a0 We have three multi-age units that are taught by teams of teachers who work collaboratively to create a<br \/>\nrigorous, hands-on learning approach for all students.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Primary Unit:\u00a0 Grades K4 through 2nd grade<\/li>\n<li>Elementary Unit:\u00a0 Grades 3 through 5<\/li>\n<li>Middle School Unit:\u00a0 Grades 6 through 8<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>We are a proud STEAM school that follows school-wide Science themes.<\/li>\n<li>We offer piano lessons (no charge) to students in grades 2 through 8<\/li>\n<li>We offer band lessons (no charge) to students in grades 6 through 8<\/li>\n<li>We offer after school sports programming (seasonal)<\/li>\n<li>We have a partnership with the UWMilwaukee Art Department<\/li>\n<li>We participate in the Milwaukee Art Museum\u2019s Junior Docent program (grades 3 through 5)<\/li>\n<li>We participate in the Danceworks program<\/li>\n<li>We participate with Arts @ Large in all grade levels<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><i>Good attendance is a must everyday!!!!\u00a0 Families need to strive for 95% daily attendance.<\/i><\/b>\u00a0 Strong, consistent attendance promotes good academic progress.\u00a0 We encourage you to minimize tardies and early pick-ups too.\u00a0 Our school day is <b><i>9:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.<\/i><\/b> and we are in learning activities the whole time.\u00a0 Every minute counts!!!!!<\/p>\n<p>Our school theme this year is \u201cLet the Adventure begin\u2026\u201d we start this year with many changes:\u00a0 new staff as well as other staff in \u201cnew\u201d roles.\u00a0 I am positive it is going to be a great year of learning, building upon our I.D.E.A.L.
