Many of these locations lie within walking distance of the school.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bicycle Federation Wisconsin<\/li>\n<li>Danceworks<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.economicswisconsin.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Economics Wisconsin<\/a><\/li>\n<li>First Stage<br \/>\nGolda Meir often takes advantage of First Stage&#8217;s production and occasionally we have collaborated with the First Stage staff to provide in school drama opportunities for interested students.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.florentineopera.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Florentine Opera<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.marquette.edu\/haggerty\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Haggerty Museum of Art<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jewishmuseummilwaukee.org\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jewish Museum Milwaukee<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ja.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Junior Achievement<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/lyndensculpturegarden.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lynden Sculpture Garden<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youthartscenter.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Milwaukee Youth Arts Center<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mam.org\/\">Milwaukee Art Museum<br \/>\n<\/a>The Milwaukee Art Museum&#8217;s Junior Docent School Program (JDSP) teachers students the vocabulary, history, and interpretation of the visual arts. The instruction provides assists in the development, awareness, and understanding of visual arts in relation to history and cultures. Students visit the Museum three times each year, over a three-year period, building on concepts and skills while using the Milwaukee Art Museum&#8217;s collection.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Year 1 (3rd grade)- Understanding Art<\/li>\n<li>Theme: Investigate<\/li>\n<li>Year 2 (4th grade)- People, Culture, and History<\/li>\n<li>Theme: Connect<\/li>\n<li>Year 3 (5th grade)- Art History and American History<\/li>\n<li>Theme: Extend<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.milwaukeeballet.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Milwaukee Ballet<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mpl.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Milwaukee Central Library<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.chamber-theatre.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Milwaukee Chamber Theatre<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.milwaukeechildrenschoir.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Milwaukee Children&#8217;s Choir<br \/>\n<\/a>Many Golda Meir&#8217;s students are members of the Milwaukee Children\u2019s Choir that meets once a week at MYAC right after school.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/milwaukee-film.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Milwaukee Film<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mptv.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Milwaukee Public Television<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra<br \/>\n<\/a>Close proximity to the school and\u00a0MSO Concerts for Schools\u00a0has made the symphony concerts a regular destination for the students.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.myso.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra (MYSO)<br \/>\n<\/a>Many Golda Meir&#8217;s students participate in MYSO&#8217;s Progressions Program, which is an intensive string training program providing private instruction and orchestral training in violin, viola, cello and bass to 3rd and 4th grade City of Milwaukee students with little or no experience playing a string instrument. Many other students also participate in various MYSO groups.
