Students will be required\u00a0to take a second language offering in their junior\/senior year (Arabic\/Mandarin).<\/li>\n<li>All teaching staff will be AP-certified.<\/li>\n<li>Golda Meir middle school students will take pre-AP courses in preparation for rigor of AP classes at the\u00a0high school level.<\/li>\n<li>All students, beginning in Grade 8 will take College Board Readiness Assessments (Grade 8: Redi-step\u00a0Assessment; Grade 10: PSAT; Grade 11: SAT\/ACT). Students who take readiness assessments score\u00a0higher on SAT and ACT tests. Taking these assessments increases scholarship opportunities.<\/li>\n<li>Unique global studies courses offer project-based enrichment learning opportunities.<\/li>\n<li>Capstone project requirement for all graduating seniors. Students are evaluated on their ability to\u00a0design, plan and manage a research project; collect and analyze information; evaluate and make\u00a0reasoned judgments; and communicate their findings and conclusions.<\/li>\n<li>Required service learning and cultural experience requirement for graduation.<\/li>\n<li>Anticipated freshman class of 150 students (2014-15).<\/li>\n<li>Online learning experience required.<\/li>\n<li>Athletic partnership with <a href=\"https:\/\/mpsmke.com\/riverside\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Riverside University High School<\/a> (football, basketball, swimming, tennis,\u00a0volleyball, track, baseball, soccer, cheerleading).<\/li>\n<li>Partnerships with downtown businesses allow for multiple intern\/externship experiences.<\/li>\n<li>Acceleration opportunities for advanced learners from elementary through high school grade levels.<\/li>\n<li>Dual credit classes available at nearby colleges.<\/li>\n<li>College tour opportunities available at each grade level.<\/li>\n<li>International travel and exchange experiences are available for students at junior and senior year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Questions about High School Admission should be directed to Mr. John Hickethier (hicketja@milwaukee.k12.wi.us) Small high school experience with an advanced curriculum; students begin AP coursework during\u00a0their freshman year.
