Students are able to donate pre-packaged food such as canned fruit, vegetables, and soup, oatmeal, spaghetti noodles and sauce, nuts, and other non-perishable foods. Our goal is to raise about half a ton of food (1000lbs),\u00a0 throughout the entire school.\u00a0 We have bakery incentives and an extra recess for the top two classrooms who have donated the most.\u00a0 The Food Drive ends on Monday, December 15.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1st Trimester ROAR Celebration\u00a0<\/strong>&#8211; On Friday, November 21, teachers will be recognizing students who have consistently demonstrated our Fairview Lion Laws of being safe, respectful and responsible.\u00a0 Teachers will also be presenting awards for students who have earned perfect attendance.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Trimester 1 Report Cards<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; Trimester 1 report cards will be going home with students on Tuesday, December 9.\u00a0 Families should be on the lookout for the report card manilla envelope.\u00a0 Please review the report (report card stays home) with your child and return the envelope with a parent\/guardian signature.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Winter Concert<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; Fairview\u2019s Winter Concert is back!\u00a0 The<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>date for the Winter Concert will be Thursday, December 18th<strong>.<\/strong>\u00a0 K4 through 5th grade students will be performing at 12:30pm.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Morning Drop-Off\u00a0<\/strong>&#8211; As you are aware, the morning drop-off time is extremely busy.\u00a0 Please give yourself time to park along the Parkway away from the bus and no parking zones.\u00a0 We have placed orange cones in the areas that are designated for our buses and\/or areas that are no stop zones.\u00a0 Thank you in advance for following our morning drop-off procedure.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Picking Students Up Early<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; If you have to pick up your child before the end of the day, you must call the main office prior to 2:00PM.\u00a0 With over 640 students, our end of the day routines and schedules are busy.\u00a0 Please be patient as students will be called to the main office for pick up when a parent\/guardian arrives at the school.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PAW Slips<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; One of the foremost advances in school-wide discipline is the emphasis on school-wide systems of support that include\u202fproactive\u202fstrategies for defining, teaching, and supporting appropriate student behaviors to create positive school environments.\u00a0 \u201cPAW Slips\u201d are positive reinforcement indicators\u202fthat are given to students who demonstrate appropriate behaviors in all areas of the school.\u202f Students will enter their\u202fslips\u202fin periodic drawings for\u202frecognition,\u202fprivileges\u202fand\/or prizes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Important Dates<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>Monday, November 24\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 No Student Attendance &#8211;
