Hello Fairview Families,<\/p>\n

Happy New Year!\u00a0 Unfortunately, (or fortunately if you are not a snow fan \ud83d\ude42) we are still waiting for the first measurable snow of the season.\u00a0 Snow brings extra excitement for our students during recess as we bring out the sleds.\u00a0 Pure joy!\u00a0 With winter finally here, please be sure to send your littles dressed for the winter.\u00a0 Winter hats, gloves and boots are a must.<\/p>\n

School Engagement Meeting (Virtual) – Thursday, January 16th at 5:30pm<\/strong>\u00a0– Interested in learning more about Fairview\u2019s 2025-2026 school budget?\u00a0 This forum is open to the Fairview community consisting of parents, teachers, and community members in providing continued analysis of our school budget.\u00a0 If you have an interest, click\u00a0here<\/a>\u00a0on Thursday, January 16th at 5:30pm.<\/p>\n

Bingo Night – Friday, January 31<\/strong>\u00a0– Get your Bingo daubers ready!\u00a0 This family fun event is a sure hit within the Fairview community.\u00a0 Snacks (Cash Event Only), prizes and fun will be taking place in the Fairview gymnasium.\u00a0 Doors open at 5:00pm with the first Bingo call at 5:30pm and the last bingo call at 8:00pm.\u00a0 Hope to see you there!<\/p>\n

Fairview 8th Grade Student Wins Prestigious Art Award<\/strong>\u00a0–\u00a0Congratulations<\/span>\u00a0to 8th grader, Htoo T Bia Paw for being named the Gold Key Winner in an art contest sponsored by the Milwaukee Art Museum.\u00a0 Htoo will be recognized on February 8th and her art piece will be exhibited at the Milwaukee Art Museum through March.\u00a0 Way to go, Htoo!<\/p>\n

Hunger Task Force and Fairview School<\/strong>\u00a0–\u00a0 The Hunger Task Force of Milwaukee reached out to thank the Fairview community for donating over 872 pounds of donated food.\u00a0 Thank you for your support as it helped provide a local safety net of nutritious food for families, children and seniors facing hunger in Milwaukee.\u00a0\u00a0Congratulations<\/span>\u00a0to Mrs. Warren\u2019s kindergarten class in taking home the honors of collecting the most goods.\u00a0 The class earned a well-deserved pizza party prior to winter break.\u00a0 Kudos to Ms. Roman and Fairview\u2019s National Junior Honor Society for all of their hard work in the organization and collections.<\/p>\n

Interim Reports – Tuesday, February 11<\/strong>\u00a0– K5-8th grade students will be receiving their interim reports for the 2nd trimester on Tuesday, February 11.\u00a0 This report is a snapshot of your child\u2019s content areas and how they are progressing thus far during Trimester 2. Please reach out to your child\u2019s teacher if you have any questions.<\/p>\n

Winter STAR Assessment<\/strong>\u00a0– STAR is a computer-adaptive district assessment used to screen students three times per year in the areas of early literacy, reading, and math.\u00a0 Students will be completing their winter STAR assessment over the next two weeks.\u00a0 Have your child(ren) get plenty of rest and have them eat a nutritious breakfast.\u00a0 These assessments help us better serve our students in the areas of reading and math.<\/p>\n

Kindergarten Enrollment<\/strong>\u00a0– Do you know of any K4 or K5 students looking to join the Fairview community? \u00a0 Starting February 1, 2025, parents will have the opportunity to enroll.\u00a0 Want to know more about Fairview School?\u00a0 Check out the Kindergarten Enrollment Fair at South Division High School on Saturday, February 1st from 9:00am – 12:00pm.\u00a0Kindergarten Enrollment<\/a><\/p>\n
