Hello Fairview Families,<\/p>\n

Our Fall conferences are just around the corner!\u00a0 We are looking forward to meeting with our families to share our students’ progress.\u00a0 These are important conversations.\u00a0 Thank you for prioritizing these scheduled conferences.<\/p>\n

Fall conferences will be scheduled for the afternoon and evenings of Thursday, October 12 and Wednesday, October 18.\u00a0 Our fall conferences will be in-person at Fairview School.\u00a0\u00a0To schedule a conference, click\u00a0here. \u00a0<\/a>Please reach out to your child(ren)’s teacher(s) or me if you have any questions.<\/p>\n

See below for Fairview School information as it pertains to the month of October.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Picture Retake<\/strong>\u00a0– Our Picture Retake Day will take place on Wednesday, November 1st, 2023.\u00a0 More information to follow in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n

Costume Parade<\/strong>\u00a0– Did you say Costume Parade?.? \u00a0 Fairview students in K4-5th grade will walk the Fairview School block to show off their costumes on Friday, October 27 at 1:00PM.\u00a0 If your child would like to take part, please send your child with a student-friendly costume.\u00a0 Family and community members are welcome to attend by setting up chairs and blankets along the Parkway.\u00a0 Please keep in mind this is a candy free event.<\/p>\n

Interim 1 Reports<\/strong>\u00a0–\u00a0 Interim reports will be sent home with your child on Tuesday, October 24.\u00a0 These reports will give you an update regarding your child\u2019s current academic standing in their classes.\u00a0 If you would like more information after receiving the report, please reach out to your child\u2019s teacher.<\/p>\n

Welcome to Fairview, Mr. Murphy!<\/strong>\u00a0– Earlier this month we welcomed our newest staff member\u2026Art Specialist,\u00a0 Mr. Murphy.\u00a0 Mr. Murphy was born and raised in Milwaukee and attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, with a bachelors in History and a Post Baccalaureate degree in Art Education.\u00a0 He has shown artwork around the United States and contributed arts writing for the online daily Urban Milwaukee.\u00a0 Welcome to the Fairview community, Mr. Murphy!<\/p>\n

Morning and Afternoon Drop-Off\u00a0<\/strong>– As you are aware, the morning and afternoon drop-off time is extremely busy.\u00a0 Please give yourself time to park along the Parkway away from the bus and no parking zones.\u00a0 We have placed orange cones in the areas that are designated for our buses and\/or areas that are no stop zones.\u00a0 Thank you in advance for following our morning and afternoon drop-off and pick-up procedure.<\/p>\n

Picking Students Up Early\u00a0<\/strong>– If you have to pick up your child before the end of the day, you must call the main office prior to 2:00PM.\u00a0 With over 640 students, our end of the day routines and schedules are busy.\u00a0 Please be patient as students will be called to the main office for pick up when a parent\/guardian arrives at the school.<\/p>\n

PAW Slips<\/strong>\u00a0– One of the foremost advances in school-wide discipline is the emphasis on school-wide systems of support that include\u202fproactive\u202fstrategies for defining, teaching, and supporting appropriate student behaviors to create positive school environments.\u00a0 \u201cPAW Slips\u201d are positive reinforcement indicators\u202fthat are given to students who demonstrate appropriate behaviors in all areas of the school.\u202f Students will enter their\u202fslips\u202fin periodic drawings for\u202frecognition,\u202fprivileges\u202fand\/or prizes.<\/p>\n
