I hope this message finds you well! It is hard to believe that the start of school is only one month away! We can\u2019t wait to see students back in the building again. The purpose of this email is to provide some updates to events leading up to the start of the school year. I will be in touch with more information as needed to get the school year started smoothly. We are looking forward to the upcoming 2023-2024 school year!<\/p>\n
Mark your calendars! Our Fall Open House will be on Wednesday, August 30 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. This will be a time to meet your child(ren)’s teacher(s), peek into the classrooms, and drop-off school supplies.<\/p>\n
School supply lists are posted on our district\u2019s website at mps.milwaukee.k12.wi.us\/en\/Families\/Resources\/Supply-Lists.htm<\/a><\/p>\n We hope your child(ren) will be returning to Fairview, but we know that changes happen. So that we may accurately estimate our available seats for Fall, please let us know if your child(ren) will not be returning to Fairview by completing the form at https:\/\/forms.gle\/cGF7xqwahRcubiJR7<\/a><\/p>\n Are you in need of before and\/or after school camp? Starting Monday, September 11th, 2023, we will be offering our before and after school care. The hours of Camp Fairview will be 6:45 a.m. for the morning camp and 2:25 – 5:30 p.m. for after school camp. The cost for the camp is $8.00 per hour. We will have early Camp Fairview registration on August 24th and 25th from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.<\/strong> Registration packets will be available for you to fill out at Fairview\u2019s main entrance. For each child, please have $10.00 in cash or check upon registration along with your child\u2019s immunization records. Camp balances from last year must be paid during registration time.<\/p>\n If you are not able to register during these two dates, we will have camp registration at the Open House on Wednesday, August 30th from 4:00-6:00 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n Due to staffing shortages, Camp Fairview may be forced to do a camp lottery. Please know that camp registration does not guarantee a Camp Fairview spot. The Fairview Camp lottery will take place on September 1st, 2023. All registered families will receive confirmation on either acceptance or placed on a waiting list.<\/p>\n If you have any questions, contact Ms. Sexton and\/or Ms. Belk along with filling out the attached link<\/a>.<\/p>\n Milwaukee Public Schools contracts several bus companies for Fairview School. Bus companies will be sending out each students’ Bus Route details via mail to include: route time, pick up and drop off locations, and bus route number. If you do not receive bus confirmation by August 23, 2023 please call 414.546-7700.<\/p>\n The 2023-2024 class placements will be available for families in the Parent Portal of Infinite Campus on Friday, August 11th. Create and\/or log in to the Parent Portal of Infinite Campus at https:\/\/mps.milwaukee.k12.wi.us\/en\/Families\/Infinite-Campus-Parent-Portal.htm<\/a><\/p>\n The Infinite Campus Portal App and site allows 24-hour access to view your child\u2019s schedule, attendance, transportation information and district messages. New Users – Please contact Fairview School at 414-546-7700 (Monday through Friday, 7:30am – 2:30pm) to receive an activation key prior to using the link.<\/p>\n All volunteers will need to have an approved Volunteer Application on file before they will be able to help at school. Learn more about volunteering<\/a>.<\/p>\n Our school day begins at 7:25 a.m. and ends at 2:25 p.m. We will have outside supervision on the playground beginning at 7:20 a.m. No matter if your child(ren) will be riding the bus, walking\/riding bikes (weather permitting), or parent drop-off\/pick-up, we encourage you to start on the first day of school with a consistent plan. It is most helpful to your child to always know the consistent plan for how they are getting to and from school.
