{"id":257,"date":"2013-07-15T19:48:07","date_gmt":"2013-07-15T19:48:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www5.milwaukee.k12.wi.us\/school\/fairview\/?page_id=257"},"modified":"2025-12-15T15:53:25","modified_gmt":"2025-12-15T20:53:25","slug":"lunch-menu","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/k12.mps.school\/fairview\/calendar\/lunch-menu\/","title":{"rendered":"Lunch Menu"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>All students eat for FREE in Milwaukee Public Schools, thanks to the community eligibility provision! <a href=\"https:\/\/mpsmke.com\/menus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">View the current month\u2019s lunch menu<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>School Nutrition Information<\/h2>\n<p>Milwaukee Public Schools&#8217; menus comply with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.govinfo.gov\/content\/pkg\/PLAW-111publ296\/pdf\/PLAW-111publ296.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010<\/a> and meet all United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) meal-pattern requirements.<\/p>\n<p>We provide our students with healthy, local, and fresh food. We strive to teach our students a way of eating that promotes well-being for the individual, community, and the earth. School lunch provides one-third of the recommended dietary allowances of protein, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, iron, calcium and calories. School breakfast provides one-fourth of the recommended calories and nutrients per day.<\/p>\n<p>Parents of students with asthma and allergic reactions to certain foods need to consult the office and kitchen manager. Special dietary meals will be considered. <strong>Candy and soda are not allowed.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Pre-Pay Your Child\u2019s Account<\/h2>\n<p>Go to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mypaymentsplus.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MyPaymentsPlus.com<\/a> to pre-pay your child\u2019s account or check on their purchases. MyPaymentsPlus accepts credit or debit cards or electronic checks.<\/p>\n<p>The prepayment system shortens the wait time in line and decreases incidents of lost money. The money is then deducted from the child\u2019s account each time they go through the line. Since school lunches are now provided at no cost, the money is used only to purchase milk for those students bringing a packed lunch to school.
