{"id":1118,"date":"2014-10-29T13:21:01","date_gmt":"2014-10-29T13:21:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www5.milwaukee.k12.wi.us\/school\/fairview\/?page_id=1118"},"modified":"2026-01-22T14:43:03","modified_gmt":"2026-01-22T19:43:03","slug":"educational-resources","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/k12.mps.school\/fairview\/families\/educational-resources\/","title":{"rendered":"Educational Resources"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Response to Intervention (RtI)<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.milwaukeepublicschools.org\/families\/interventions\/academic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RtI<\/a> is an organizational framework that guides implementation of a multi-level system of support to achieve academic and behavioral success for all. The RtI framework includes three\u00a0essential elements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>high quality instruction (in academics and behavior)<\/li>\n<li>balanced assessment<\/li>\n<li>collaboration<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>RtI is implemented at all MPS schools around literacy and mathematics for academics and PBIS for behavior using the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.milwaukeepublicschools.org\/families\/interventions\/academic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MPS RtI Process<\/a>. Schools are encouraged to stay up-to-date with best practices and success stories across the district from various schools and their RtI\/ PBIS framework implementation.<\/p>\n<p>These three essential elements, embedded with culturally responsive practices\u00a0and family engagement,\u00a0both supported by leadership and organizational\/team structures, interact within a multi-level system of support.<\/p>\n<h2>Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mpsmke.com\/pbis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PBIS<\/a>\u00a0is a joint effort between Milwaukee Public Schools\u00a0Office of Family Services and the Milwaukee Teachers\u2019 Education Association to effectively reduce classroom disruptions and student suspensions through a school-wide systematic tiered-intervention approach.
